Billy Martin

Billy Martin has been performing solo since the premiere of his Stridulations at NYC's Brooklyn Academy of Music. His Amulet recording Black Elk Speaks was released in 2001 and includes Stridulations and many other new compositions and improvisations.

The live performances consist of various improvisations based on these compositions and his illy B Eats groove series. There's always new instrumentation and surprises on every gig. His setup usually consists of drum set, balaphones, mbiras, congas, bass drums, gongs, various wood and metallic found objects, whistles, springs, ashtrays, etc...
